Work on the Emerald Centre in Ampthill was recently completed and handed over to Bedfordshire Police. The project involved the refit of a two storey building, creating a SARC unit for Central Bedfordshire. The building was stripped out completely including all finishes and internal walls, and was then fitted out throughout with a reception area, kitchens, family waiting rooms, forensic waiting rooms, toilets and showers, along with interview, monitoring rooms and staff office areas. New M&E, air handling, air conditioning, security and data services were installed throughout and the whole building was decorated and new floor finishes fitted. Our site manager welcomed a number of students from the University of Bedfordshire on his Hat Works site as part of their interior design project. Their visit provided an insight for them to the existing features within the Grade II listed building that they could incorporate into their designs for the building.
